Detroit Electric

The Detroit Electric car was produced by a company that operated in Detroit, MI, under several different names between 1907 and 1938: Anderson Carriage Co. (1907-1910), Anderson Electric Car Co. (1911-1918), and Detroit Electric Car Co (1919-1938). Production was more than 1000 cars per year into the mid-teens, but demand and production dropped in the 1920s, and only special orders were made after 1935.

Pictured here is Clara Ford's personal 1914 Detroit Electric. Top speed was about 20 M.P.H., and the car could cover 50 to 85 miles between charges.
